Nosepass Variants: Electric-type

Nosepass signalpass.

These particularly charismatic Nosepass variants are typically found in areas of low visibility. Their fluffy coats make them very well-suited to tundras, but they have also found additional success within cool, foggy forests and deep cave systems. Solitary by nature, this variant's keen sense of smell (a feature of all observed Nosepass) is accompanied by more developed ears, which appear to help them more accurately assess the size and risk factor of any approaching threats. (Editor's note: Surprisingly, they didn't seem to find our human researchers very dangerous.)

As Nosepass variants go, Nosepass signalpass has a particularly cunning way of sustaining itself. It can emit a rather enticing light from the tip of its snout to attract other wild Pokémon, where it will then attack with its electrically-charged horns. Upon downing prey successfully, it drags them into its burrow where it may feast in private. A risky method, but a surprisingly successful one.

Another observed used for its glowing nose is the potential to attract other Nosepass signalpass, or to perhaps communicate. Although more study is needed, there have been observed cases of multiple signalpass blinking their nose lights at each other, and one case of two individuals beginning to cohabitate after a brief stand-off. It is theorised that enticing nose-blinking patterns, large horns, and particularly interesting coat patterning all serve a purpose in how this variant selects mates.

Despite its solitary ways and rather brutal method of hunting, Nosepass signalpass has amassed a healthy amount of publicity and popularity due to its resemblance to holiday "red-nosed Stantler" myths. As researchers, we can only hope this will increase interest in all observed Nosepass species, and that adoption rates for all Nosepass will continue to increase.

In captivity, Nosepass signalpass retain the level-headedness that many Nosepass species are known for, with the added bonus of a luxuriously fluffy coat. Given their patience and high level of adaptability, their 10/10 rating is well-deserved.
