Nosepass Variants: Grass-type

Nosepass whittlepass.

These especially shy variants of Nosepass camouflage themselves within wooded areas, and are quite picky about their outward appearance. Their noses are honed into a fine point, of which they use to communally groom each other and shape their wooden exteriors as they see fit. They are continually growing, so this routine ensures optimal health.

As a species, Nosepass whittlepass are quite difficult to observe. It is currently unknown what would happen if one were to overgrow, and certainly, to forgo such a regular social activity would likely take a tremendous toll on its mental health. We are currently devising ways in which we can ensure their health and happiness in captivity, particularly given that we don't yet know the extent of their population.

Of those observed in the wild, we have found some success interacting with them via Grass-type ambassador Pokémon. (Editor's Note: Seeing them so curious about our Sunflora was adorable and delightful.) After they realised our friendly ambassador Pokémon were comfortable with us, we were allowed to sit close by and observe their social behaviours, although they did not yet allow physical contact.

In our observations, we witnessed them sharpening their noses on nearby trees and leaving some fairly distinctive marks, although we are unsure if this is a mark of territory or just a side-effect of their routines. Wood shavings that resulted from their grooming were cleared away by certain members of the group, possibly for use in nests (although this is as-of-yet unconfirmed).

We are only currently aware of one group of these variants, but further cataloguing of other nearby forests is needed in order to fully categorise its conservation status. For now, we are proceeding carefully in order to ensure the safety of all known Nosepass whittlepass

Our research team currently give Nosepass whittlepass a 10/10. Whilst we still need to learn much more about them, their charm and character is simply undeniable.
