Nosepass Variants: Water-type

Nosepass buoypass.

As relaxed as all Nosepass seem to be, the Water-type variant takes it a step further. These gentle creatures' rocky skin developed into shell-like armour and waterproof scales, giving them the ability to fully enjoy life upon the waves. A diet of sand gives them the minerals they need to keep their shells strong and smooth, although they will happily accept any food a trainer offers to them.

Nosepass buoypass will avoid diving down into water, perhaps as a remnant of standard Rock-type tendencies. Instead, they use their large nostrils to store oxygen within their body so that they may always float upon the surface. They may also eject oxygen from their feet for a burst of speed, whether for the purpose of escape or a full-force tackle. Such tackles can happen as a result of playful behaviour, however, caution is advised due to their still-formidable weight. (Editor's Note: We learned this the hard way. Don't be like us.)

The favoured habitat of these Nosepass are sunny beaches with warm waters, where they may freely swim or lounge upon the shore. At night they use their clawed flippers to burrow into the sand, where they rest in groups. Upon testing these Nosepass' sense of direction (integral to all forms of Nosepass), we determined that Nosepass buoypass will always be able to find their way back to their home beach, using a combination of their natural magnetism and superb sense of smell. Those living near human settlements will often guide weak swimmers back to shore and let weary swimmers rest upon their shells.

Overall, this Nosepass is exceedingly carefree, and regular access to warm water and warm temperatures are more than enough to keep it happy. Our research team give Nosepass buoypass a 10/10, and especially recommend it as a partner for those whom would like to feel more at ease in the sea.
