Nosepass' SECRET Counterparts!

Do you ever think about Nosepass? Like, really think about Nosepass! I certainly do!

To fully consider this creature, one must consider all aspects of it. And its main, defining aspect... is its nose.

The nose, for those reading this whom may have never experienced one before, is the main way one may experience smells. In fact, noses and the sense of smell are heavily correlated and associated with one another, to the point of being inseparable concepts.

Where one considers the nose, one must consider the sense of smell. And when one considers the sense of smell, one must consider all senses.

If Nosepass is to be considered a representative of the sense of smell, then which Pokémon would represent the other senses alongside it?

Today, dear readers, we solve this most vexing mystery!

Taste

To represent the sense of taste, Lickitung is the clear choice.

Aside from very clearly having a large tongue, Lickitung does in fact share two traits with Nosepass: it only has one evolution, and its evolution debuted in Generation 4. These certainly aren't mandatory conditions for this list, but it sure helps give a Pokémon bonus points for effort.

When asked about the fact that smell and taste often correlate with each other (see: taste being lessened when one's nose is blocked), Lickitung declined to comment.

Sight

Many Pokémon can be said to have powerful eyesight, but Watchog happens to have particularly striking eyes!

Sure, Pokémon like Luxray may have x-ray vision, or whatever. They may even be vastly more popular than Watchog, for extremely arbitrary reasons. But, is there any better Pokémon to represent the sense of sight than the one whomst literally has "watch" in its name? I think not.

Reportedly, Watchog has a fascination with glittery slimes and sparkly sticker sheets. When asked if it ever uses any of its stickers, Watchog gave us a disdainful look.

Hearing

Now, I hear you. A lot of Pokémon happen to have big ears, particularly bat-related species. However, whose main gimmick is its sense of hearing, to the point where its ears can function as a goddamn stethoscope?

For all the things it can hear, Audino will not be hearing any complaints about its placement on this list.

Audino's ears have the distinction of not only being top-class at hearing things, but also being extremely fluffy. We asked if we could touch Audino's ears, but Audino did not respond, and instead turned up the volume on its mp3 player. It is unclear what kind of music it enjoys listening to.

Touch

Now, most Pokémon have the capability to make physical contact with other things, but very few can claim to have extremely large hands. This is why Hariyama has been chosen to represent the sense of touch.

When asked if it had the touch and/or the power, Hariyama picked up an entire boulder to demonstrate its abilities, with, might I add, relative ease. Incredibly, its hands look even bigger in person than they do in the photos, meaning a hands-on experience may be necessary to truly conceptualise and understand its abilities as the representative of touch.

I would give Hariyama a high-five, but I fear I would never recover from the medical bills.

Sixth Sense

Finally, we... huh?

I mean... I guess that's a sense??

Xatu can see the future, and probably foresaw its place as a representative of the sixth sense. It can probably also read minds, or something? Psychics are scary, man.

We tried to ask Xatu a question, but it had already answered before we could even speak the words. Due to legal reasons and privacy concerns, we cannot publish what Xatu said in that moment.

Direction

I'm told that Pidgey has an incredibly good sense of direction. I fear what other things it may tell me, if given the chance.

Style

Well.. that is an incredibly stylish Pokémon, I'll give you that.

Dread

What do you mean sense of dread-

He approaches!

He approaches!

HE APPROACHES

Conclusion

Now you know whomst Nosepass' SECRET counterparts are, you can do all kinds of things! You could make a team based on the five+ senses, or even use it as inspiration for fanart or fanfics. The possibilities are truly endless.
